Erasmus Scholarships

GrEnFIn-EMJM offers full Erasmus Mundus scholarships to the best-ranked students worldwide.

The Erasmus Mundus scholarship covers student participation costs and a monthly allowance of €1400 per month (during both academic years).

All applicants, wherever they come from, are eligible for an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (EMJM) scholarship provided they fulfil the academic requirements, as stated by the Notice for admission and by the Erasmus Mundus rules.

Candidates applying for an EMJM scholarship must consider that:

  • the scholarship can only be awarded to full-time students;
  • students who have previously obtained an EMJM scholarship are not eligible to apply for an additional scholarship under the EMJM;
  • in the case they receive an EMJM scholarship they will not benefit from another  EU funded scholarship schemeto follow the same EMJM course and this for the entire GrEnFIn-EMJM study period.

Candidates will be required to accept the above-mentioned awarding conditions at the application stage. The consequence in case of false declarations will be the reimbursement of scholarships unduly paid.The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA)will perform regular checks to ensure the respect of the above-mentioned rule.

Criterias

Financial support determinations will be made by the Scholarship Board, evaluating the eligibility of all applicants. The assessment will consider factors such as adherence to the application deadline, completeness of application documents, and the candidate’s eligibility to enroll in the GrEnFIn Master.

Scholarship recipients will be selected based on various criteria, including theiracademic background and performance, professional and extracurricular experiences, motivation, proficiency in English language skills, and a letter of recommendation usually provided by a former academic supervisor or professional.

The allocation of scholarships will be based on a single ranking that involves all three tracks
to enhance the merit of candidates regardless of their pathway preferences.

The distribution of scholarships will be conducted separately for:

  • programme countries (Member States of the European Union and Third countries associated to the programme),
  • partner countries (Third countries not associated to the programme),
  • NDICI countries,

resulting in distinct ranking lists and corresponding reserve lists based on applicants’ cumulative score. Striving for geographical equity (and aspiring to achieve gender balance as much as possible within each category),the allocation aims to limit scholarships awarded to a maximum of 10% for candidates from the same nationality (except for targeted regions)

If possible, an equal number of scholarships will be given to each gender in each category.

The rights and obligations of the consortium, students, and scholarship holders are outlined in a Student Agreement that is signed by each student and representatives of the GrEnFIn EMJM at the inception of the programme. This ensures transparency, particularly for students with diverse academic and cultural backgrounds.

Financial supports

The consortium wholeheartedly embraces the principles of equality and inclusivity, particularly concerning gender considerations and individuals with special needs, both among students and staff. The GrEnFIn EMJM is designed to welcome students from around the world who meet the academic requirements.

To ensure broad awareness and accessibility, the programme will be actively promoted through HEIs networks, GrEnFIn channels/platforms, and public webpages featuring international programmes. Comprehensive information about the academic programme, curricula, mobility arrangements, visa and insurance details, and more are available. The webpage will also serve as a central resource for various support services, including assistance for housing, students with children, and those with special needs.

Each of the three HEIs provides a range of services tailored to support students with challenges or special needs. These services encompass housing, counselling, family support, and tools to address specific needs, including those of students with chronic illnesses or impairments. Accommodations may involve adjusting exam deadlines, modifying examination types, or providing aids like laptops. Consultations will be offered to address individual queries and concerns.

Upon programme enrolment, a comprehensive summary of available services will be provided on the GrEnFIn webpage, accompanied by an email sent to enrolled students. This communication will include inquiries about preferences for student housing reservations and identification of any special needs.
